Last season’s finalists kept apart in Clubman Shirts League Cup semi-final draw

THE DRAW HAS been made for the semi-finals of the Clubman Shirts League Cup final.

After the quarter-finals were played on Sunday, the Inishowen League have made the pairings with Glengad United drawn at home to Buncrana Hearts and Dunree United hosting Clonmany Shamrocks.

On Sunday, Glengad came from a goal down to defeat Carn 4-1 with Patrick McDermott (2), Terence Doherty and PJ McDaid on the mark.

Stephen Parkhouse’s reign as the Buncrana Hearts manager has begun well and on Sunday they were 3-1 winners over Cockhill Youths with Pat Loughrey, Kieran McDaid and Eoin Murphy on the mark.

Glengad were the winners of this competition last season, when they overcame Clonmany Shamrocks 2-1 in the final.

The Shamrocks were 4-1 winners at Rasheney in a quarter-final on Saturday evening when Gary Doherty, Ferghal Harkin, Jason Devlin and Michael Devlin scoring.

Clonmany will face Dunree away in the other semi with Liam Baldrick and Oisin O’Flaherty firing Dunree to a 2-1 win over Aileach on Sunday.
