Lagan Harps U12 girls qualify for the FAI National Challenge Cup Finals which takes place in the AUL Dublin, onĀ 29 October.

It has been an amazing few months for these group of girls.
Lagan last qualified for the National Stage back in 2011.
The FAI had reorganised the qualifying structures three years ago, which makes it more difficult for clubs within the county to qualify for the final stage.
The girls now must finish in the top two in Donegal and they reach the final of the FAI North West Region where they compete against the top two teams in Inishowen League and the Sligo/Leitrim Schoolgirls League.
So far this year Lagan ‘s U12 girls lifted the Donegal Women’s League, Cup, Ulster Cup and the FAI North West Cup.
In a very competitive League both Lagan Harps and Illistrin finished on same points resulting in a League Play Off for the first time in the history of the Donegal Women’s League.
OnĀ 11 SeptemberĀ Lagan lifted the Donegal Women’s League trophy after playing 11 league games from April to August against 11 quality teams in the league scoring 44 goals and conceding only 7.
The play off didn’t fail to entertain going all the way to sudden death penalties, after a 1-1 draw
Lagan also lifted the Highland Bakery Cup with a 2-0 win over Illistrin FC
This squad also competed in the Ulster U12 Willie McLaughlin Cup beating Cockhill Celtic, Buncrana Harps, Illistrin FC on the way to the final where they met Mulroy Academy in a very entertaining game before lifting the Ulster Willie McLaughlin U12 Cup by winning the game 1-0.
In the FAI North West Cup the girls had to play the winners of the Inishowen League, Buncrana Hearts with a 2-1 victory, then playing Yeats Utd who finished second in the Sligo/Leitrim School girls league, going down 1-0 early on the girls fought back to win 2-1. In the final they beat the favourites Real Tubber, the Sligo/Leitrim Schoolgirls League Winners, Ā by 1-0.
On SundayĀ in the AUL they play Newbridge FC from Kildare, Ringmahon Rangers from Cork and Cavan Shamrocks from Cavan.
