Three Donegal boxers are in action this weekend in the National Boys and Girls Senior Cadet Championships in Dublin.

Raphoe duo Cody Lafferty and Leah Gallen will be in semi-final action, as will Molly Simmons from Carndonagh.

Lafferty faces Rathkeale’s Breda Quilligan in a 46kgs semi-final.

Last weekend, the Ballindrait ace defeated Castleblaney’s Andrea Leer 5-0 in a quarter-final.

The 2014 Irish Girl 1 champion is back at a more natural 46kgs weight again and will be gunning to return to an Irish final.

This year’s Irish Girl 5 champion, Gallen, returns to the canvas again as she takes on Drimnagh’s Abi Sutton.

Earlier in 2018, Gallen defeated Keisha Attwell to win the Girl 5 66kgs crown and Gallen is back at 66kgs for these Championships.

Sophia Hopkova from Ballyhaunis awaits the winner.

Carndonagh’s Simmons is up against Clonmel woman Ellie Mai Gartland in a 54kgs semi.

Next weekend, Carndonagh man Andrew Cunningham takes to the ring in a 60kgs semi-final as he is slated to meet Steven Cairns of Legacy.
