Key due return to hand Gaoth Dobhair boost ahead of ‘Cross’ tie

Gaoth Dobhair are expected to welcome Odhran Mac Niallais and Odhran McFadden-Ferry back into the fold for Sunday’s Ulster Club SFC semi-final against Crossmaglen.

Gaoth Dobhair go up against 11-time Ulster champions Cross at Healy Park on Sunday afternoon without cruciate victim Kieran Gillespie.

In the opening seconds if the quarter-final win over Cargin, Gillespie went down awkwardly and the diagnosis is a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

However, Mac Niallais and McFadden-Ferry are likely to be thrust under the spotlight in Omagh.

Both sat out the Cargin game, Mac Niallais due to a finger injury and McFadden-Ferry missing out through a dead leg.

Mac Niallais – who was this week named as the Gradam Seamus Mac Geidigh Award winner – was togged out at Corrigan Park, but wasn’t called upon.

Both players are tipped to make a return to the starting XV as Gaoth Dobhair look to reach the provincial final.
