The first shot on target came from the Cathedral Town as Conor O’Reilly hit a piledriver which forced a great save on 15 minutes by Conor O’Donnell.

Minutes later with Keadue’s first attack, their right winger Jack Doherty should have scored after great work by Aaron McGlynn but skied it over the bar. Midway through the half Mark McDaid was unlucky with a shot which took a deflection wide.

From the resulting corner the lively Jack O’Donnell collected the ball and shot past the keeper but Calum Boyle was on the line to clear it. Bonagee were well in control in this half with the industrious O’Reilly running midfield.
Bonagee lost their influential midfielder Daragh Ellison due to injury which give the impetuous to Ward’s charges. The switch of the game came from manager Pat Ward when he moved the left footed Daniel Ward back to midfield as they were being overrun.

They say that sometimes the game can be won in the dressing room because whatever Ward told his team it worked. They started to get on top without really creating anything with Ward having a shot from 30 yards went wide. The fast running Aaron McGlynn was using his pace down the left and on 66 minutes, he cut inside but Ross Marley turned his shot around the post.
McHugh took the corner and it sailed over the keeper into the net which was aided by the strong breeze. Both teams huffed and puffed for the last 10mins but to no avail. Referee Liam McLaughlin’s final whistle was greeted with warm applause by both sets of spectators for both teams who battled in windy conditions for the 80 minutes.
