Donegal captain Karen Guthrie has been named in the 2018 Lidl Ladies National League Division 1 Team of the Year.

Guthrie had a superb spring for Maxi Curran’s new-look Tir Chonaill side.

Guthrie hit 1-4 in the opening game, an eye-catching win over Dublin at Croke Park. Guthrie led a largely-inexperienced Donegal to the semi-finals, where they came unstuck against Galway.

But Guthrie’s form an influence has been recognised with inclusion in the Team of the Year.

The players on each of the four divisional teams were chosen by the LGFA’s All Star committee, and the Division 1 team contains players representing five counties.

Guthrie was also named on the Team of the Year in 2018.

The players will receive their awards at Croke Park on May 31.
