Manchester United manager José Mourinho sent a heartfelt letter to the heartbroken family of a young Donegal man who died suddenly last month.

Anthony ‘Manty’ McLaughlin, from River Row, Moville, was a lifelong Manchester United supporter.

The 28-year-old, who was an integral feature at his beloved Moville Celtic, and was involved in other groups in his local community.

There was widespread sadness at the sudden passing of ‘Manty’ in his native Moville and surrounding areas.

A bit fan of the Red Devils, he attended games at Old Trafford and last week his parents, Kevin and Bernie, received a person letter in the post from United manager Mourinho.

“I have been informed, and was deeply saddened to hear, that your dear son Anthony recently passed away,” Mourinho wrote.

“On behalf of the staff and players at Manchester United, please accept our heartfelt condolences to you both, to Damien, Stevonna and Charlotte, and to all the family and friends, on the loss of your loved one.
