Joseph Duffy v Dustin Poirier on preliminary card at UFC 195

THE UFC have confirmed that Joseph Duffy’s fight against Dustin Poirier in January will be on the preliminary card at UFC195 in the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas.

Duffy had to pull out of the scheduled fight with Poirier in October when he suffered concussion in the week leading up to the bout.

When organisers announced that their lightweight contest was being put on the UFC195 card, it was assumed that it would be one2 of the main events, but the UFC have confirmed that it will headline the UFC FightPass Preliminary card.

Duffy (14-1), from Meenbanad, Burtonport, was the last man to beat Conor McGregor, who took just 13 seconds to knock out Jose Aldo and take the UFC featherweight title overnight in Las Vegas.

At Cage Warriors 39, Duffy submitted ‘The Notorious’ in just 38 seconds in a 155-pound contest in November 2010.

UFC 195 next month is headlined by the UFC welterweight title fight between Robbie Lawlor and Carlos Condit.

Excited to get back in there and put on a show for all the fight pass members https://t.co/ALkcx52ZhA
