Injury blow for Eoin Sheridan ahead of Oscar Traynor Cup quarter-final

RATHMULLAN CELTIC’S Eoin Sheridan is expected to miss Sunday’s Oscar Traynor Cup quarter-final.

The Donegal League take on North East Football League at The Moss in Drumoghill (kick-off 1pm) and Sheridan is set to miss out because of a hamstring injury.

Sheridan scored in the 5-2 win over Sligo-Leitrim in the group stage and played a big role in the 3-2 win over United Churches League in the last round.

“Eoin has had a hamstring injury for the last two weeks and is looking very doubtful,” Donegal League manager Brian Dorrian said.

“It’s highly unlikely that he’ll be available. He’s been doing a lot of work on it with the physio and in the hydro pool at the Aura Centre, but he’s not looking like he’s going to make it.

“It’s a big blow for him, but the good thing about having a big panel is that there are men there who can do a job.

“It won’t be an issue to get someone in there. We have several options.”

Donegal League drew 0-0 with Finn Harps Under-19s in Convoy last night in a friendly and will train again on Friday night ahead of the big game.
