In-form Letterkenny AC woman Nakita Burke continued a fine week as she won the Queen’s Race Around The River last night.

Burke was the first woman home in the Belfast race, completing the 5k course in 16 minutes and 50 seconds.

Burke’s latest win came just three days after another superb run in Belfast.

On Sunday, she was third in an ultra-competitive Titanic Quarter 10k. There, Burke set a new PB of 34 minutes and 33 seconds – shaving a whopping 19 seconds off her previous best of 34:52, recorded in the Seeley Cup four months ago.
