Eight-year-old Donal Kelly idolised his uncle Manus, who died one year ago this weekend.
Today, young Donal – son of Manus’s brother Donal – made a TikTok video in tribute to his uncle, the rallying legend, politician and businessman.
“A year ago my world turned upside down,” Donal says.
“From this, I learned that one thing we all have in common. Life is not about the days you live on this earth, but what you do with those days.
“I remember the moment I lost my hero. It broke me. He gave me some of the happiest memories.”
Last year, Manus tragically lost his life while competing in the Donegal Rally.
Young Donal said: “Everyone of us, every day, is blessed to have someone we can look up to. Every day I get out of bed and do something to make my uncle, my hero, proud. I miss you big man.”
