THERE WILL BE a considerable Donegal interest at Croke Park as Scotland take on Louth in TG4 All-Ireland Junior Football Championship on Sunday (throw-in 11:45am).

Termon’s Olive McCafferty is named at centre-back for Scotland and Karen Feeney from Gortahork will start at corner-forward. The former Cloughaneely player has this year transferred to Dunedin Connolly’s in Edinburgh.

Caolfhoinn Deeney, the right corner-forward for Scotland, is from Rathmullan originally but moved to Wicklow.

Dunedin Connolly’s Angie Callaghan from Letterkenny and formerly of St Eunan’s having played for Donegal, is on the bench having missed out on the semi-final with a dislocated shoulder. Ballyshannon’s Annette Lloyd, who is with Glasgow Gaels, is also named among the substitutes.

In that last four tie, Scotland got the better of Derry on a 1-13 to 2-5 scoreline at Fingallians, while Louth enjoyed a comfortable win over Lancashire, 6-11 to 2-6.

Christina Newton from Leixlip, Co Kildare, played centre-forward and is the niece of former Donegal player, Des Newton.

Paul Gallagher from Arranmore is a selector and Letterkenny native Jonathan Foley is part of the backroom team.
