Home draw for Letterkenny Rovers in FAI Youth Cup

LETTERKENNY ROVERS have been drawn at home to Mountview Boys or Tolka Rovers in the FAI Umbro Youth Cup Third Round.

The draw was conducted at FAI headquarters in Abbotstown this evening.

Anthony Gorman’s side will have home advantage against Dublin opposition on the weekend of Sunday January 17th.

Already in the competition, Rovers – who were semi-finalists last season when they lost out to Kilreen Celtic from Cork – have won two derbies against Bonagee United and Swilly Rovers.

In October, they needed penalties to get past Bonagee.

Goals by Eoghan Kelly and Sean Curran had them two up, but Bonagee rallied with late goals from Evan McCroary and Noah Sanni, only for Letterkenny to win 4-3 on penalties.

In the second round, they defeated Swilly Rovers 4-0 on a day when Zach Gorman, David O’Donnell, Shane Doherty and Calvin O’Brien were on target.
