Highly-rated French striker signs for Finn Harps and could feature against Bohs

French-born striker Ibrahim Keita could go straight into the Finn Harps squad for tonight’s game against Bohemians at Finn Park.

The 21-year-old Keita, who was most recently at Doxa Proskyniton in Greece, has been today granted an international transfer certificate (ITC) by the FAI, which will enable him to line out for Harps.

Ollie Horgan, the Harps manager, has already added midfielder Tommy McBride to his squad and will hope that Keita can be a replacement for Ciaran O’Connor, who has since signed for Bohs and could be in the opposition squad tonight.

“We’re pleased to get Ibrahim into the squad and hopefully he can adapt quickly to the League of Ireland Premier Division. He has played at a decent level and has that experience of being with professional clubs” Horgan said.

Keita has been on the books of VSS Kosice in Slovakia and also Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Keita spent four years at Wolves and was highly-rated at Molineaux.

Keita was on the Wolves first team squad briefly and was an unused sub for two games. Kieta was regularly on the match-day part during Kenny Jackett’s term as Wolves boss after the striker was recruited from Saint Marcel in France.
