Here’s how last night’s results leave the Donegal minors and Under-17’s

IT WAS A case of Donegal on the double last night with two fine wins in Derry.

Minors

In the Ulster Minor League, Shaun Paul Barrett’s Donegal enjoyed a 3-12 to 0-6 victory at Celtic Park.

Donegal are away to Antrim on Saturday – venue TBC – needing a win to confirm their progression as runners-up to Tyrone.

The Red Hand County can only be caught by Antrim – who beat Tyrone in the opening round of fixtures – in the head-to-head.

So the best Donegal can hope for is second place, which they will achieve should they avoid defeat on Saturday.

Meanwhile, in the Ulster Under-17 League, Donegal have already assured themselves of a last four spot against Monaghan as they can only be caught for second place by Fermanagh and Derry – the two sides Brian McGeehin’s team have beaten in the head-to-head.

With Fermanagh welcoming Derry to Lisnaskea on Saturday it means that both teams cannot get onto four points on the table so points difference will not come into play.

Tyrone have assured themselves of top spot and will face Cavan.
