Here’s a chance for Donegal’s fastest children to compete in New York

A HUGE OPPORTUNITY has been presented to find Donegal’s fastest child, with the winners in with a chance of representing Ireland in New York.

Schools in Donegal are invited to send their fastest sprinters to Finn Valley AC in Stranorlar on Tuesday, January 26, at 6pm.
Children are tested on their fastest speed over a ‘flying 20 metres’. Using speed gates, the child’s time is recorded as they run, full speed, through two gates 20 metres apart.

The event, sponsored by Firefly Foot & Ankle Clinic is titled ‘Fastest Feet’ and it is the search for the quickest boy and girl in the land, no older than eight years of age before February 22, 2016.

The children who record the fastest times at our various test centres during January will race off in either the boys and girls final at AIT International Arena, Athlone on Saturday, Janaury 30.

From there Firefly will send the fastest boy and girl along with a parent/guardian to New York to race at the prestigious Millrose Games in Manhattan on the weekend of February 20 – with flights and accommodation to be paid by Firefly the sponsors .
