Good interest in Board positions ahead of Finn Harps AGM

THERE IS the possibility that there could be up to a handful of new appointments to the Board of Directors of Finn Harps this weekend.

The Annual General Meeting of the Finn Harps Co-Operative Society Ltd takes place in the Villa Rose Hotel, Ballybofey on Sunday evening at 6pm.

The deadline for the submission of nominations to the Board was yesterday evening and there have been 12 names submitted.

All of the outgoing Board members – Sean Quinn, James Rogers, John Campbell, Derek Wilkinson, Lorna McHugh, Aidan Campbell and Paul McLoone – have been put forward for re-election again.

While there have been rumblings that some of those are considering their futures, none have yet confirmed their positions ahead of Sunday’s meeting.

There have been another five names submitted to the club.

Kathy Taafe, Joe Boland, Ivan Harvey and Aidan McNelis have all confirmed their intentions to seek election to the Board.

There is another nominee, but that person, who has previously served on the Board, has yet to confirm that they will go forward for a post.

While recent Harps AGMs have not been well attended with only a small percentage of the club’s shareholding – number just over 500 – turning up, the club has appealed for a large crowd as they begin preparations for the 2020 season.
