Glencar Inn Golf: Shane Thompson scores win at MP O’Donnell’s Captain’s Day

The Glencar Inn Golf Society held it’s most prestigious outing of the season on Saturday at Letterkenny Golf Club with MP O’Donnell’s Captains Day. 

The evergreen Shane Thompson produced the winning score ahead of the short game specialist Kieran Sweeney with Martin Kelly in third and Charlie McLaughlin in fourth.

The category prizes on the day were Cat 1 – Michael McElhinney and Dan Goggins, Cat 2 – Fred Houston and Brian Carney, Cat 3 – Paddy McCafferty and Jimmy McFadden, Cat 4 – Sean McGlinchey and Martin Houston. Past Captains went to Pat Herron, Front 9 – Brian Wilson Back 9 – Shane Gallagher.- longest Drive – Rory Gallagher, Nearest the Pin Shane Gallagher, Two’s – Shane Gallagher, Visitors – 1- Martin Gallagher 2 – Oisin McAleney, non qualifiers – Rory Gallagher.
