Dungloe suffered another home defeat in Division 2 of the All-County league on Saturday evening as Naomh Columba won at Rosses Park.

Dungloe 0-11 Naomh Columba 2-10

An Oisin Bonner free after eight minutes got the scoring started but this was cancelled out a minute later when Kevin McNern pointed from play.

Naomh Columba hit 1-3 in the next 10 minutes without reply from Dungloe scores coming from two points from Ryan Gillespie before Paddy Byrne got on the end of a long ball in and found the back of the net.

Three quick points from the boots of Adam Neely (2) and David McCarron kept the home side in touch as the clock ticked down but Gavin McGinley pointed on the stroke of  half time for Naomh Columba to leave the half time score: Dungloe 0-4 Naomh Columba 1-5.

Paddy Bryne and Aaron Doherty stretched the visitors’ lead out further at the restart hitting two points before substitute Conor Greene hit a point.

Aaron Doherty hit a point for the visitors, but the home side lifted their spirits and hit four points to narrow the margin – Adam Neely (f), Christy Greene, Daniel Ward and substitute Shaun Sharkey.

A Paddy Byrne free was cancelled out at the other end when Conor Greene struck a free to leave two between the sides with 8 minutes left of normal time.

Ryan Gillepsie put three between the sides while Dungloe had to watch their next three shots on goals go wide.

Gillespie hit the sucker punch for Glen on 27 mins finishing to the back of the Dungloe net and stretching the visitors’ lead to six points.
