MARTIN MCHUGH’S first match in charge of Kilcar ended in defeat at a windswept Magheragallon this afternoon in the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta.

An experimental Kilcar side were 0-6 to 0-2 up at half-time having enjoyed the benefit of a very strong wind. After the break, though, the hosts Gaoth Dobhair got into gear and  ran out 2-9 to 0-6 winners in the end.

The home side’s goals came from a Gavin McBride penalty and Michael Roarty added a second and Gaoth Dobhair will now play Milford next Saturday.

The visitors were 1-4 to 1-1 up at half-time and Griffin went onto score 1-4 as Barry Rose knocked over three points in a good win for Brian McCabe’s team. Oisin McFadden found the net for Gaeil Fhánada.
