CLG AN CLOCHÁN LIATH had a bumper crowd and a bumper night’s action at their White Collar Boxing Fight Night fundraiser.

The Rosses Park club’s event had been sold out for weeks and Donegal and Gaoth Dobhair full-back Neil McGee was presenting the prizes last night.

The fight of the night was Robert Weherly against Doalty Boyle, where the former first team manager was beaten by his corner-back. The Fighter of the night award went to Benny McGarvey, who beat Cathal Brennan.

In the headline fight there was an away win as Michael ‘Rock’ Gallagher from St Michael’s got the judges’ decision.

Thanks from An Clochán Liath:

From all at CLG An Clochán Liath we wish to thank all our patrons who bought tickets to support out event.

A special thanks to all our sponsors without whose support, tonight would not have been possible. To all the participants who have given a big commitment over the last six weeks in preparation for the night.

To Kevin Bonner, who generously sponsored the trophies for all our fighters & the Rosses community school for the use of their fine facilities.

To the fight night committee who put in a serious effort in organising the event in particular Marty Boyle,  Noel McBride, Shaun Sharkey, Ronan Brennan, Robert Weherly and Breda O’Donnell.

Lastly to all who helped out on the night, MC Eamon Kelly, Dr Dara McEniff (who thankfully was not called upon!), Gerard Boyle our time keeper, Eugene McGarvey and Dom Sweeney for refereeing and our three judges!

We hope you enjoyed the night and we look forward to your continued support in 2016.
