THE CARNDONAGH community was out in force on Sunday as professional boxer Jason Quigley performed the official opening of the new Carndonagh ABC gym.
It was a proud day for a club that has waited years for the day.

Around €120,000 was raised and now, finally, the club – previously based at the old Youth Club in the town – has a home to call its own, at Barrack Hill.
Former European lightweight champion Charlie Nash and various people from the boxing world were in town on Sunday, as were Carndonagh’s Irish champions –Â Labhaoise Clarke, Jessica Clarke, Liam Callaghan, Rosemary Doherty, Chantel Dixon and Maggie Doherty.
The new facility houses a gym, kitchen, dressing rooms, toilet, office area and a general purpose room upstairs.
