It was another tight and tense race for the latest Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub Sports Person of the Week, in association with O’Reilly’s.
Darren McElwaine of Gaeil Fhánada came out on top this week, with 710 votes.
McElwaine edged out Sean MacCumhaills player Aaron Kelly in the voting.
McElwaine had 40 per cent of the 1,762 votes cast.
Kelly was just 25 votes behind, taking 685 votes, of 39 per cent pf the total.
McElwaine turned in a memorable performance last Wednesday in Convoy as Gaeil Fhánada captured the Division 2 Minor title.
McElwaine hit 1-3 as they defeated Kilcar. His goal, in the 36th minute, showed him at his brilliant best.
Each weekly award winner will receive a kitbag, a jersey and a half-zip, supplied by O’Reilly’s.
