Friel on fire as Urris win high-scoring clash with Letterkenny Gaels

ALAN FRIEL LED the way as Urris defeated Letterkenny Gaels in a high-scoring clash at Crampsey Park last night.

Urris 3-16 Letterkenny Gaels 1-15

Friel scored 2-5 for the Urris men, with 2-4 of that coming in the first half.

Friel’s early goal set the tone as Urris took charge from the off.

Cormac Cannon did get a goal for Letterkenny Gaels, but when Friel netted a penalty past James Carr, Urris were on their way again.

Urris led by five, 2-8 to 1-6, at half-time.

Midway through the second half, Michael Grant bagged the third Urris goal for a useful win for the Clonmany representatives.

Scorers – Urris: Alan Friel 2-5, Michael Grant 1-1, Conor Bradley 0-3, Peter Devlin 0-2, Niall McLaughlin 0-2 John McCarron, Bernard Friel, Ryan Doherty 0-1 each

Letterkenny Gaels: Conor Mc Brearty 0-5, Cormac Cannon 1-1, Nicky McGarrigle 0-4, Mark Hunter 0-3, Sean McDonagh, Paddy Doherty 0-01 each
