Former Finn Harps man Ethan Boyle called up to Irish U21 squad

Former Finn Harps player Ethan Boyle has been called into the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for this evening’s European Championship qualifier against Germany.

Boyle, who joined Shamrock Rovers following Harps’ relegation last season, is in the Irish panel for the game in Tallaght.

Ireland have never qualified for the UEFA U21 European Championships finals and with three games left, Noel King’s side have qualification in their own hands.

Ireland are two points behind the Group Five leaders and can go top with two games to play if they beat the Germans.

“It’s a huge game for us and the boys are buzzing for it. We got back from Kosovo on Saturday, it’s been a long week for the group but the attitude has been excellent and everyone is really looking forward to it,” King – a former Finn Harps manager – said.

““It was a good point in the end in Kosovo. They took points off Norway and Germany so it’s a good result, and we go into tomorrow’s game full of confidence.

“This is a really talented group and the players have done brilliantly throughout the campaign. They’ve got themselves into a great position and the chance of qualification is still there.”
