St Johnston man Ronan Curtis could be on his way to Sweden this week with Derry City believed to have received a bid for the in-form attacker.
The 21-year-old is said to be the subject of interest from Ostersunds.
The club have tabled an offer for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 and reports this morning suggest they are keen to have a deal wrapped up before the end of the week, when the Swedish transfer window closes.
Curtis scored Derry’s only goal in a 6-1 defeat to Danish side Midtjylland in the Europea League June.
Ostersunds, themselves, are still in the Europa League having beaten Turkish giants Galatasaray.
Ostersunds are managed by Englishman Graham Potter.
London-born Curtis played schoolboy football with Kildrum Tigers after the family moved to St Johnston and was snapped up by Derry.
This season, Curtis has netted six goals for Kenny Shiels’ team and the City boss insists that he wouldn’t block any proposed move.
“Ronan is doing very well, but we don’t stand in the way of any player who may get a chance to play at a higher level,” the Derry manager told the Derry Journal.
“That’s the club policy and has been for a number of years.
“He has been an excellent player for us this season but if we lose him, as long it’s in the best interests for both the club and the player, then I’ll be happy enough.”
