DRUMOGHILL FC COULD be crowned Donegal League champions next Friday night, May 6.

The Donegal League fixtures secretary, Christina O’Donnell, has confirmed that Drumoghill’s game against Gweedore Celtic at The Moss will be played at 7pm on May 6.

The game had initially been pencilled in for Sunday, May 8, but has been pulled forward to accommodate a request by the Gweedore club.

Champions-in-waiting Drumoghill – chasing a first crown since 1995 – need one point from their final two games to secure the title.

They lead the Brian McCormick Sports Premier Division by six points from Milford United.

By the time Milford play away at St Catherine’s on Sunday-week, it could all be over, should Michael Lynch’s Drumoghill avoid defeat to relegation-threatened Gweedore Celtic.

On the final day of the season, Sunday, May 15, Drumoghill go to St Johnston to face Kildrum Tigers while Milford United will be at home to Rathmullan Celtic.
