Finn Valley completed the initial underage national championship programme on Sunday in Tullamore, which has become a home from home for club members having spent four long successful days there in last few weeks .

There was again a great buzz as Team Valley began to hit the medal zone. This weekend again with notable family and coach support and so so many getting into top six positions. Arlene Crossan after her long jump exploits the previous weekend won the 300m on the dip, and ran a PB 400 for silver.

Janine Boyle ran the fastest race ever by a Donegal lady 11.72 albeit wind assisted to record a club best and win of course and a silver the following day. James Kelly’s 16.18 metres in shot-putt was enough for gold and 47-odd for silver in javelin.

Medals for Pauric Harold, Dylan Kearns, Naoimh McGranaghan, Ian Brennan – a particularly exciting hour on Saturday morning as Valley went first, second and sixth in under-14 long jump – Lauren Callaghan with a PB of 5.21 metres, Michaela Byrne and Cate Smyth.

The newest kid on the block, Joseph Gillespie, jumped 1.35  metres in the high jump for bronze. Jade Leeper threw 32.90 metres in the discuss.
This weekend yes its Tullamore on Saturday relays and let’s end it on a high.
