FINN HARPS REMAIN top of Section 3 of the Under-19 League of Ireland after a hard fought 3-0 home victory over Dundalk at Finn Park on Saturday afternoon.

Finn Harps U19’s 3-0 Dundalk U19’s

Harps opened the scoring on the stroke of half time when BJ Banda capitalised from a defensive mistake to slide the ball underneath the Dundalk keeper from eight yards out.
Harps didn’t  have it their own way for periods of the game with Dundalk knocking on the door several times to get on the scoresheet but they were  denied each time from good shot stopping from goalkeeper Lee McCarron and a very solid defence which included player of the match Paul Ferry.
A pinpoint free kick into the penalty area from Declan Sharkey in the 62 minute found central defender Ciaran Kelly and he made no mistake with a well placed header into the Dundalk net to make it 2-0 and substitute Oisin Hassett made it 3-0 when he found the top corner of the net from the penalty spot late on after being brought down just inside the 18-yard box.
Up next for Joe Boyle’s troops is another home fixture against neighbours Sligo Rovers in two weeks time.
Finn Harps: Lee McCarron, Liam Doherty, Luke Nelis, Ciaran Kelly, Paul Ferry, Gareth Doherty, Simon McGlynn, Mark Coyle, Darragh Black, Declan Sharkey, BJ Banda. Subs: Oisin Hassett, Eoin Slevin, Paddy Diver, Paul McDermott.
