FINN HARPS CONTINUED THEIR unbeaten start to the season after a well deserved 3-0 victory over neighbours Derry City at Brandywell Stadium this afternoon.

Joe Boyle’s side (pictured above courtesy of Stephen Doherty) were missing Lee McCarron, BJ Banda and Gareth Doherty due to their inclusion in the Senior team setup against Cobh Ramblers and also missing were the injured duo of Daire O’Baoill and Sam Murphy.
Harps raced into an early lead through the lively Darragh Black. A cross from the left wing found Simon McGlynn and he in turn found Black in space 10 yards out and slipped the ball past City net minder Mark McElinney with ease.
The Balybofey outfit doubled their lead before the break when Black’s in swinging free kick into the City six-yard box was diverted into the net by a Derry defender.
City to their credit came into the game in the second half but found it hard to get pass a well organised Harps defence.
The icing was put on the cake for Boyle’s troops near the end of the match when after been fouled inside the penalty area, Simon McGlynn dusted himself down and sent the resulting penalty low into the City net.
