Even though they are already relegated, Pete Mahon says Drogheda United are fully intent on bagging a win against Finn Harps tonight.
Drogheda have not won a League game since a 2-0 win against Harps in April and have won only four times this season.
Last Saturday’s 1-0 loss a Limerick was their 21st League loss of the season.
In April, Adam Wixted and Gavin Brennan netted in a win over Harps, but the Drogs haven’t tasted a victory since.
“It’s been far too long without a win, there’s no way to dress it up as anything else,” Mahon said.
“I really don’t want that hanging over our heads going into next season so it’s really important that we get one over the line in the next two games.
“Harps are still hanging on but I’m hoping we can finally get that win on the board.”
Drogheda will welcome back Dave Mulcahy, Stephen Dunne, Jake Hyland and Thomas Byrne from injury.
Colm Deasy misses out through suspension while Richie Purdy and Ryan Masterson are injured.
It’s must win for Harps, who will be relegated if they don’t collect three points.
“It’s not over yet although, realistically, it is very near it,” Harps manager Ollie Horgan admitted.
“Stranger things have happened…We’ll see. We’ll do all we can to turn Drogheda over.”
