FANAD United and Drumkeen United will return to action in the new Ulster Senior League season which kicks off next month.
The USL is set to revert back to a ‘winter’ season from next month after clubs voted for change last October. Since a controversial move in 2007 the local intermediate clubs had been playing summer football.
Fanad and Drumkeen opted not to take part in the recent interim season, but both are confirmed entrants for the new campaign.
14-times USL champions Fanad and Drumkeen will both be under new management. Arthur Lynch takes over at Triagh-A-Locha with Shaun Gallagher in charge at St Patrick’s Park.
There will be seven teams in the new Ulster Senior League season: Bonagee United, Derry City, Cockhill Celtic, Fanad United, Letterkenny Rovers, Swilly Rovers and Drumkeen United.
Finn Harps had started the interim season, but after a series of bad results the Ballybofey outfit pulled out and have decided not to submit an entry.
Next season, teams will play each other three times.
At a delegate meeting in Letterkenny on Monday night, the draw was made for the 2015/16 Ulster Senior League Cup.
Cockhill Celtic, who have won the League and Cup double in each of the last three seasons, are in Group B alongside Fanad United and Bonagee United. Group A comprises Drumkeen United, Derry City, Letterkenny Rovers and Swilly Rovers.
