Eight Donegal nominees to find out fate at Saturday’s All-Star Awards

The TG4 Ladies Football All-Star Awards will take place tomorrow night (December 1) with eight Donegal footballers nominated for an award.

Nicole McLaughlin, Ciara Hegarty, Tresea Doherty, Katy Herron, Deirdre Foley, Karen Guthrie, Geraldine McLaughlin and Yvonne Bonner are all listed among the 45 nominees.

The 2018 TG4 All Star team will be announced at a gala banquet at the Citywest Hotel on Saturday, December 1, along with the Junior, Intermediate and Senior Players’ Player of the Year award winners, the Provincial Young Players of the Year and the 2018 inductee into the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) Hall of Fame.

It was a superb year for the Donegal Ladies, which saw them retain their Ulster SFC title and reach the county’s first ever senior semi-final.

Two goals from Orla Finn and Saoirse Noonan saw Cork back into the senior All-Ireland final at the expense of Donegal at Dr Hyde Park in August – but 2018 will still go down as a wonderful year for the Tir Chonaill ladies.
