THREE Donegal players have been nominated for 2021 TG4 Ladies Football All Star awards.

Termon trio Geraldine McLaughlin, Nicole McLaughlin and Evelyn McGinley are among the 45-player shortlist.

McGinley is nominated at full-back with Nicole McLaughlin among the centre-back nominees and Geraldine McLaughlin included as one of the three options at left corner-forward.

Geraldine McLaughlin has yet to win an All-Star award in spite of her being one of the leading lights in the game.

Her scoring averages in 2021 were her best yet. In total, McLaughlin scored 7-58, an average of 9.9 per game which is her best annual average in her 12 years on the Donegal senior panel.

One player will be chosen from the three shortlisted in each of the positions to make up the final selection, with the exception of midfield, where two from six will be chosen.

The 2021 TG4 All Star team will be announced at a gala banquet at Dublin’s Bonnington Hotel on Saturday, November 13.
