Donegal are seeking showdown talks with the GAA top brass regarding the venues for the All-Ireland quarter-final group games.
Donegal will then be away to Roscommon or Armagh before hosting Tyrone or Cork in Ballybofey on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Donegal will, therefore, have two ‘away’ games before they host a fixture at Sean MacCumhaill Park.
Croke Park has been Dublin’s de facto home in recent years – they have played all their Championship games since 2004 at the venue and all their League fixtures since 2010 – and Donegal are irked at the unfair advantage they will have in the Super 8s.
“C.L.G. Dhún na nGall are to seek a meeting with GAA Officials to seek clarification on how any County may use a Ground as both Neutral and a Home venue,” a statement from the Donegal County Board read.
“The intention of the meeting is to ensure a level playing field for every team who will qualify for the All-Ireland Quarter-Final Group Stage and ensure that no team has any advantage over any other team.”
Donegal manager Declan Bonner has been outspoken on the matter over the last week.
Donegal’s Central Council delegate, Seamus Ó Domhnaill, raised the matter at national level on Friday night last while Donegal discussed it at management committee level on Monday night.
Their move to seek a meeting, one leading Board official said, was an attempt at ‘balancing an unbalanced playing field’.
