THERE WAS DISAPPOINTMENT for two Donegal players as Peamount United in today’s Continental Tyres Women’s FAI Women’s Senior Cup semi-finals.

Milford native Amber Barrett (pictured above) was up front and Greencastle’s Eimear Lafferty was on the bench as Continental Tyres Women’s National League champions Wexford were ultimately too strong for Peamount as Claire O’Riordan scored a hat-trick in a 6-2 triumph at Ferrycarrig Park.

Aisling Frawley, Emma Hansberry, and Carol Breen were also on target for Will Doyle’s side, while Emma Byrne and Lucy McCartan got on the scoresheet for Peamount.

In the other semi-final at Morton Stadium, Noelle Murray proved to be the difference for Shelbourne Ladies as she fired in a hat-trick, while Katie McCabe converted a penalty kick as Casey McQuillan’s team secured a 4-0 win over Shelbourne Under-18s.

The final will take place at Aviva Stadium on Sunday, November 8.
