Donegal minors too strong for Antrim in Minor League Shield final

Donegal’s minors overcame Armagh by eight points in the Ulster Minor Football League Shield final this afternoon at Garvaghey.

Donegal 1-11 Armagh 0-6

Oisin Gallen scored 1-6, including a penalty late in the first half, for Donegal as Shaun Paul Barrett’s team came out on top.

Donegal led by eight, 1-6 to 0-1, at the changeover.

The goal came after Keelan McGroddy was hacked down in front of goal and Gallen slammed home from the penalty.

Peadar Mogan clipped over a trio of fine points as Donegal collected the Shield and go now to prepare for their Ulster MFC opener against Antrim in May.
