THREE DONEGAL MEN lined out for Mountbellew Agricultural College in their All-Ireland Agricultural and Horticultural Colleges football final win this week.

Ciaran Gibbons from Glenswilly, James Gallagher of Gaeil Fhánada and Naomh Columba’s Steven Callaghan all featured in their 5-8 to 1-14 win over Kildalton Agricultural College from Kilkenny on Tuesday.

Mountbellew were 10 points up at half-time and although Kildalton mounted something of a second half comeback with five unanswered points at the start of the second half, it was a six-point win in the end for the side from Galway at Templetuohy, Co Tipperary.

Gibbons, who was part of the Glenswilly team that won the Senior Reserve Championship in October with victory over Ardara was at midfield, while Gallagher played at centre-back with Callaghan directly to his right.

Joe Donnellan from Galway, Longford Under-21 captain Shane Kenny and man of the match, Mayo’s Patrick Keadin all played for Mountbellew.
