Donegal learn their qualifier fate following Ulster final defeat

THE DRAW HAS been made for round 4 of the All-Ireland Football Qualifiers.

Donegal will take on Cork on Saturday-week, July 30, with the Central Competitions Controls Committee to announce the venue and throw-in time.

Donegal enter the qualifiers after a 0-13 to 0-11 Ulster SFC final loss against Tyrone yesterday in Clones.

A late surge by the Red Hands, during which Sean Cavanagh, Peter Harte and Kieran McGeary hit points, saw them claim their first Ulster final win since 2010 and their fifth during Mickey Harte’s reign.

For Donegal, it’s back to the drawing board and a meeting with Cork, who they beat in an All-Ireland semi-final in 2012.

The winners of the Donegal-Cork round 4B qualifier will take on Dublin in an All-Ireland quarter-final.

The Donegal minors are pencilled in to face Cork in an All-Ireland quarter-final on the same weekend as the Donegal-Cork qualifier, rising the possibility and likelihood of a double header.

Shaun Paul Barrett’s Donegal overcame Derry in yesterday’s Ulster minor final.
