Kildrum Tigers opened up a five-point lead at the top of the Donegal League Premier Division thanks to a derby win at The Moss.

In a game reversed late on Sunday morning after Station Road Park was deemed unplayable, Damian Crossan, William Lynch and Gary Crossan netted the goals to keep the Tigers purring at the summit – although the St Johnston men have played more games than their rivals.

Kildrum were on top throughout, but took some time to break down a stubborn and resolute Drumoghill side.

Indeed, it was beyond the hour mark before Kildrum hit the front.

Damian Crossan headed home at close range from a delicious Brian Coll corner that looked at a stage as if it was heading straight to the net.

The Tigers doubled the lead when Lynch (pictured) fired home after super work by Gareth Colhoun, who dashed to the line before cutting back to Lynch.

The win was sealed late in the game when Gary Crossan tucked home with Lynch providing the assist.
