CHAMPIONS DRUMOGHILL FC were the big winners last night at the Donegal League’s annual presentations at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Letterkenny.

Midfielder Chris Malseed was named as the Brian McCormick Sports Premier Division Player of the Year.
Malseed was excellent all season and his fingerprints were all over the campaign as Drumoghill brought the Premier Division crown back to The Moss for the first time in 21 years.

Malseed, who spent some time at Sterling Albion in Scotland in 2006, has played for Finn Harps and Letterkenny Rovers.

Malseed has been an integral part of Drumoghill’s title-winning season and collected the big prize last night.

Drumoghill manager Michael Lynch was named as the Manager of the Year, while Drumoghill stalwart Kieran O’Donnell was one of the Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, alongside Dunkineely Celtic’s George McMullan.

JP Malley of Castlefin Celtic was the Premier Division’s top goalscorer.

There were double awards – player of the year and top goalscorer – for Lagan Harps’ Mark Hunter and Arranmore United’s Gavin McGlanaghey.

The awards night draws and end to the 2015/16 season for the Donegal League, who honoured their Oscar Traynor Cup squad, semi-finalists in the Oscar Traynor Cup this season, with a special recognition award.
