THERE WILL be no Donegal boxers in finals action at the National Senior Championships in Dublin next weekend.

The final two Donegal punchers left in the Championships made their exits today.

Letterkenny light-heavy John McDonagh, who had been superb in his run to the semis, lost out to Brian Kennedy from St Mary’s Daingean in today’s semi-final.

Kennedy claimed a unanimous decision win over McDonagh, who enjoyed a fine win over Michael Frayne last night having stopped Brian Ward last weekend.

Davit Tsotsoria from Illies Golden Gloves went down to Athlone man Marcin Skalski in a heavyweight semi-final at the National Stadium.

Tsotsoria, who was given a bye through to the semis, lost out on a unanimous decision.

Last night, Raphoe’s Orin McDermott, Twin Towns’ Paul Kelly and Illies Golden Gloves’ Garbhan Friel lost out in split decision verdicts.
