ARDAL MCDERMOTT’S HURLERS will feature on a double-bill with Rory Gallagher’s footballers in Letterkenny in March.

Burt native McDermott (pictured above left with Donegal County Board chairman Sean Dunnion) took over as manager of the county’s hurlers in September and his team will take on Down on Sunday, March 13, at O’Donnell Park in Division 2B of the Allianz Hurling League before the county footballers face Roscommon in Division 1 of the football league.

In Division 2B, the top two teams will contest the league final with the winners of that final getting promotion to Division 2A.

The bottom two teams contest the relegation play-off, where the loser plays Roinn 3A winner in relegation/promotion play-off.

Here’s Donegal’s fixtures for 2016:

Sunday, February 14, 2pm – MacHale Park, Castlebar

Mayo v Donegal

Sunday, February 21, 2pm – O’Donnell Park, Letterkenny

Donegal v Armagh

Sunday, March 6, 2pm – St Loman’s Park, Trim

Meath v Donegal

Sunday, March 13, 1:15pm –  O’Donnell Park, Letterkenny

Donegal v Down

Sunday, March 290, 2pm – Pearse Park, Arklow

Kildare v Donegal
