THE DONEGAL Women’s League Under-14s take on Metropolitan Girls League in the semi-final of the Gaynor Cup tomorrow morning.

Bríd McGinty’s team face the pre-tournament favourites, MGL in the Cup semi finals at University of Limerick.

Donegal drew their opening game 2-2 with Sligo-Leitrim on Friday night when Jessica Lesse and Ciara McGarvey netted.

Yesterday Gemma McFadden scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Wexford before they drew 0-0 against Clare.

This morning, Leese scored twice with McGarvey and Aoife Kelly also scoring in a 4-0 win over Longford.

That result put Donegal in with a chance of making the semis, but they had to sweat for other results. They went the way of the Donegal side, though, and they meet the fancied MGL in tomorrow’s semi-final.

Earlier today, Nadine Clare and Zoe Leonard scored as MGL defeated the Inishowen Ladies League 2-0, a result that means the Inishowen team will compete in the Plate competition.

Diarmuid O’Brien’s team will face Limerick Desmond in a Plate semi-final tomorrow.
