Thompson had to make a dash to Kingspan Breffni Park from his brother’s wedding and was flown by helicopter to allow him take his place in the Donegal panel.

His older brother, 2012 All-Ireland winner Anthony, got married to Nicole McHugh in Lettermacaward earlier today.

Ciaran Thompson has another engagement to attend to – toppling Tyrone!

After the game, the Naomh Conaill forward will be flown back to the wedding reception, which is being held at the Blue Haven in Kilcar.

Jamie Brennan’s goal, after just four minutes, gave Donegal the perfect start and the Bundoran man has kicked 1-3 as Donegal hold a commanding 1-9 to 0-5 lead.
