AMY BOYLE CARR and Tyler Toland are hoping to be selected tomorrow when the Republic of Ireland Under-15 Girls take on England in a friendly.

Glenties native Carr and St Johnston’s Toland made the trip to Manchester today for the friendly which takes place at an all-weather facility as Egerton FC, Cheshire at 12.30pm.

This will be the third time these two sides have met in the invitational encounter and Lorraine Counihan, the Irish manager, is still awaiting a win.

2014 saw the Irish loss out by a significant margin while last season, the Lionness enjoyed a narrow 1-0 victory at Home Farm FC.

Boyle Carr’s equaliser was chalked off as England took a narrow win.

St Columba’s Comprehensive student Boyle Carr is likely to be in the starting XI tomorrow while Deele College woman Toland hopes to feature having been out injured for two months.

“We have five capped players returning from last season and I’m hoping they will all bring that experience to the fore tomorrow as it’s a massive game for us,” Counihan said.

“The newcomers have all proven themselves in recent months and it will be a great challenge for them against a brilliant well contained outfit.”
