Donegal chiefs consider options after Neil McGee appeal rejected at Croke Park

Donegal GAA officials are considering their options after an appeal against Neil McGee’s red card in Sunday’s Ulster SFC semi-final failed last night.

Donegal officials were present at a hearing in Croke Park before the Central Hearings Committee.

McGee was sent off in the 13th minute of the game following an incident involving Connaire Harrison, the Down full-forward.

McGee, who had already been booked, was shown a straight red card by referee Anthony Nolan.

At the time, members of the Donegal management and, in particular, McGee’s team-mate Frank McGlynn, were livid with the decision.

Donegal viewed video footage and lodged an appeal.

With the initial appeal waved away by the CHC last night, Donegal could take their case to the Central Appeals Committee in a bid to clear the full-back for Sunday-week’s Ulster final against Fermanagh in Clones.
