Donegal boxers Muireann Bradley (Letterkenny) and Carleigh Irving (Illies Golden Gloves) booked their spots in finals at the National Girls Championships.

Bradley (pictured) overcame Megan Martin from Ballinacarrow thanks to a narrow win in her Girl 2 39kgs semi-final.

Bradley took the verdict on a tight, tense 3-2 split decision and the Letterkenny woman now returns to the National Stadium for her final.

Irving toppled Leah Lehane, on a 4-1 split, to advance to the Girl 3 47kgs final.

There was no joy, however, for Sarah Marie Duffy from Illies Golden Gloves as she was on the wrong end of a 3-2 split decision against Chloe Black from Tullow in a Girl 2 45kgs semi-final.

Next weekend, there are more Donegal punchers in semi-final action.

Letterkenny’s Rebekah McGlinchey meets Rebecca Hennessy of Togher at Girl 5 63kgs, Lani Lafferty from Twin Towns meet’s Corpus Christi’s Natalie Mongan in a Girl 2 49kgs contest while, at Girl 6 57kgs, Molly Simmons from Carndonagh takes on Swords’ Niamh Fay.
