DONEGAL BOSTON got their potentially memorable weekend off to a winning start with victory in the North Eastern Junior B championship final this evening.

Jason Costello, John Doogan, both from Galway, and Matthew Cutliffe from Buncrana were the goalscorers in their 3-12 to 1-9 win over MacAnespies. The team is captained by John Deery from Malin and Culdaff native Gerard O’Kane is manager.

The Junior A’s will take the field at midday (local time, 5pm Irish time) on Sunday as they aim to retain their divisional title against the Wolfetones. The seniors face the same opposition afterwards.

There was a strong Donegal influence in the Junior B panel with Christopher McLaughlin (Malin), Jonathan Byrne (Malin),  Deery (Malin), Hugh Devine (Lifford), Michael McBride(Downings), Jason McDaid (Malin), John Doogan (Downings), Ronan Shovlin (Kilcar), Matthew Cutliffe (Buncrana), Seamus Sweeney (Convoy), Tiernan McConnell (Robert Emmets), Gareth Ruddy (Carndonagh), Rocky Ivors (Urris), Sean Winston (Muff), Shane McDaid (Buncrana), Pauric McLaughlin (Buncrana) and Colin McCarron (Dungloe).
