GAEIL FHÁNADA recorded an impressive home win on Saturday, on a night when Naomh Bríd jumped to second in the AllSportStore.com All-County Football League Division 3.

With leaders Aodh Ruadh winning again, this time against Letterkenny Gaels, it’s as you were at the summit.

Buncrana drew 0-11 apiece away to Downings for a result that meant the Inishowen side was leapfrogged into second. Buncrana couldn’t put Downings away and the sides had to settle for a stalemate.

Naomh Bríd rose above them into second with a fine 2-10 to 0-13 win over Naomh Colmcille in Newtowncunningham.

Owen Harron netted the opening goal in the 25th minute and the Ballintra men led 1-5 to 0-4.

Shane Walsh fired home to put six between them in the 48th minute and they held onto a lead.

Willie Gillespie kicked seven points, including some wonder points from all angles, in what was his final game before he departs this week for America, representing a huge blow for Francie Martin’s team, who’ve yet to catch fire this year.
